About the Education Foundation

What is AHSEF?
Airport High School Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. AHSEF established in May of 2000 to encourage and benefit the students and teachers of AHS through scholarships for deserving students and grants for teachers working to improve their skills. Airport High School Educational Foundation hosts an annual auction benefiting Airport High School in West Columbia, South Carolina.

What does AHSEF support?
AHSEF supports teachers and students from AHS. Airport High School opened in 1958 as a combination junior-senior high school. The junior high school moved into its own facility after one year and the high school grew by adding one grade at a time until the first class graduated in 1964. At that time, the school was located in a semi-rural area. Today it is in the midst of a developing commercial area near the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

What is the money used for?
Airport High School Educational Foundation has given over $100,000 in scholarship growth, grants. Almost 100% of the money raised is given in scholarships and grants, as all administrative expenses are kept to a minimum.

How can I help?
The annual auction will be held on May 13, 2014 at the Brookland Baptist Convention Center in West Columbia, South Carolina.  Funds will be raised through proceeds from ticket sales, table sponsorships, a silent auction, and a live auction.  The social hour and silent auction are at 6:00pm and dinner is at 7:00pm.  You can help by being a sponsor, donating silent auction items or making a tax deductible contribution.
